ARIZONA DAR SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Middle School teacher, Richard Moore, received the DAR (Daughters of the
American Revolution) award in Phoenix on May 8, 2015
Elementary music teacher and high school jazz combo band director, Mrs. Kris Flores is beginning her third year at The Academy of Tucson Elementary School and first year at The Academy of Tucson High School. Although Mrs. Flores is a native Arizonan, she graduated from the University of North Texas which is ranked among the top music schools in the United States. She has taught K-12 music and has been employed as a choral and band director in both Texas and Arizona for the past 19 years. In addition to being a school teacher, Mrs. Flores enjoys being a church choir director and spending time with her family. She has been married for twenty-three years and has a son who is a senior in high school, a daughter who is in 5th grade, and a son who is in fourth grade. Thank you, Mrs. Flores, for your dedication to The Academy of Tucson Schools.
