Ms. Moseley, Art Teacher, Academy of Tucson Middle School
Ms. Moseley, known affectionately as Ms. Mo, is the Art Teacher at Academy of Tucson Middle School. For seven years she has inspired and guided her students to explore, observe and think critically through Art. Ms. Mo impresses us all with the variety of art classes she has developed for the kids. Her 7th and 8th graders can choose a Collaborative Art Class where students work in teams to create pieces for the school, like murals or bulletin boards. Other unique art class offerings are Avant-Garde Art, Art Perspective and Set Design.
Known for having an aesthetically pleasing classroom. Ms. Mo loves the Mona Lisa and lime green, which you know immediately upon entering her inviting and creative space. In her classroom on any given day you may see middle schoolers sculpting, drawing, adjusting set designs, exploring fiber arts and multimedia or putting the final touches on elaborate murals.
Here’s Amy presenting a sculpture of a Cougar, the Middle School mascot, to AOTMS at an end-of-the year assembly. She made the sculpture with one of her classes!
Ms. Mo attended University of Arizona and earned a dual bachelor’s degree in Art Education and Fine Arts. Ms. Mo’s lifelong love of art stems back to her own elementary school experience. And she is a huge endorser of Art in schools, for all ages and all students. Ms. Mo carries that forward in her day-to-day, loving her job and the kids she works with, and she considers Academy of Tucson home.
