Hopefully by now you’ve seen that our AOTHS earned the US News and World Report 2020 Best High School ranking yet again! Our Academy of Tucson High School teachers, students, staff and community have shown what an extraordinary high school can be! Hats off to AOTHS! Go Lynx!

 

But how do they do it?

 

Our rigorous, traditional curriculum and smaller class sizes ensure every student gets personalized attention. Our AOT middle schoolers can earn high school credit. Our high schoolers can enjoy AP classes and dual enrollment with local colleges. They can also choose from over 100 online courses. Plus, Academy of Tucson regularly beats state averages on tests and has a 100% graduation rate!

 

And how do we earn our A average rating from the state of Arizona? According to The Republic, “about 90% of a K-8 school's grade relies on state testing: 30% is based on the number of students at schools with proficient scores on AzMERIT tests, 50% is based on students' testing improvement from year to year and 10% is based on English-language-learner growth and proficiency. The last 10% is based on a variety of factors, including chronic absenteeism rates and inclusion rates of students with disabilities”.

 

Our certified teachers create encouraging, caring educations in a safe and supportive learning environment. Many of our teachers enroll their own children and grandchildren in AOT schools because of our close-knit, positive culture.

By keeping class sizes small, Academy of Tucson meets each student where they are. Every student blossoms with individualized attention, fostering independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

 

Every student is known by name – not only to faculty – but also to staff, administrators and other students. As a free, public charter school we thrive with the support of our parent and family volunteers. It takes a village to create our rigorous academic environment. We are so grateful for our AOT community!

 

Our youngest Academy of Tucson students learn to type and use their Chrome Books for online learning. Our students have 2:1 access to Chrome Books throughout their Academy of Tucson experience and our district has 3D printers!

In the end, our A-rated academics are an honor bestowed on us by the state of Arizona. And yet we are and do so much more! Academy of Tucson awakens passionate learners with our focus on growth mindsets, and fosters an exciting, active student life. We teach all core subject areas plus Music, Art, Foreign Languages and multiple Electives. We graduate responsible, educated, future leaders who are lifelong learners, ready to contribute to society.
