Our Academy of Tucson public charter school district comprises an Elementary School, a Middle School, and a High School located on three charming campuses. Since 1986, our ‘A’ average-rated district continues to grow with our rigorous, traditional curriculum, smaller class sizes and thriving community of families who volunteer and support our schools.
We ensure every student gets personalized attention. By keeping class sizes small, Academy of Tucson meets each student where they are. We know - and use - every student's name; not only our faculty, but staff, administrators and other students.
Smaller classes guarantee every student is seen and heard, impacting their education at an individual level. With a cap of 14:1 student-to-teacher ratio, Academy of Tucson innovates in the classroom every day. Our teachers can holistically focus on the unique abilities and needs of our students, while delivering the traditional liberal arts education for which our schools are known. And because we are a small school, every Academy of Tucson staff member is looking after students with the same levels of care and respect.
Our 100% certified teachers create encouraging, caring educations in a safe and supportive learning environment. Many of our teachers enroll their own children and grandchildren in AOT schools because of our close-knit, positive culture. Some were AOT parents first - valuing our school and district so much - they joined our faculty!
As free, public charter schools we thrive with the support of our parent and family volunteers. We are a smaller community and can engage our AOT family in day-to-day student life. Throughout the school year, Academy of Tucson public charter schools host carnivals, book fairs and academic festivals, live theatre workshops, alumni breakfasts and STEM events. Connecting as a public school community, Academy of Tucson families actively help in classrooms to support the schools, and join the fun alongside our students.
