Academy of Tucson Loves to Celebrate: In-school Events and Fundraisers

At Academy of Tucson, our small class sizes allow our committed and caring teachers to truly know and meet each student where they are in their educational journey.

100% of our Academy of Tucson district school teachers are certified in the State of Arizona.  Several members of our faculty and administration were Academy of Tucson parents before they joined our staff choosing our district because of its positive and safe campuses. And a big part of what makes our time together so positive is all the fun we have at every AOT campus. Festivals and events abound, as well as fundraisers, carnivals, and academic showcases.

Our Academy of Tucson Elementary School students have a lot of fun together at events like Love of Reading Week and other Spirit Weeks, Spelling Bees, Science Fun Fests (like SARSEF), Grandparents Day Breakfasts and Choir Concerts. We host two book fairs a year and our students and teachers dress up as favorite book characters. Our Carnivals kick off our book fair weeks. Orchestrated by the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), the school community purchases tickets for carnival rides, games, food, raffle prizes and more!

Our Academy of Tucson Middle School also hosts two book fairs/year and we host two festivals as well. These are "family festivals," which is a collaboration between the PAC and the book fair teacher sponsor. They are huge events with arts and crafts, cooking competitions, and of course, costume competitions! The festivals correlate with the beginning of the book fair week. AOTMS also celebrates with pep rallies, citizenship events with our music program, Veteran Events and fundraisers - like our Honor Flight. Every year we raise enough money to send two veterans on flights to visit war memorials.

Our Academy of Tucson High School hosts two blood drives every year, our AOTHS student council organizes our festive spirit weeks - culminating in an all grade color war against the teachers! The student council is also at the helm of organizing our four annual school dances - Homecoming, Halloween, Winter Formal and Prom. Our National Honor Society and Junior Civitan raise funds and our robust music program performs often in and out of school. Our AOTHS students participate in Science Fairs and travel to statewide and international competitions.

Under normal circumstances, we love to celebrate our seniors! Seniors and families are treated to a breakfast provided by the parents of juniors. Seniors also get a prank day and "ditch" day, where they travel to Mount Lemmon to grill, hike, fish and chill with classmates.

Whatever fun, educational or community-focused events we are hosting at Academy of Tucson, we welcome the opportunity to expand our learning and celebrate our ‘A’ average rating for our district. We love our three campuses, dedicated faculty and staff, engaged alumni and we deeply appreciate our AOT community
