The tax credit is available to those who file an Arizona state tax return. Taxpayers filing in Arizona have the unique opportunity to actually redirect a portion of their state tax dollars to a qualifying organization at no additional financial cost to themselves. This tax code allows for donations to be returned to the taxpayer, not as a deduction but as a tax credit. Single taxpayers or heads of household may dedicate up to $200 and married taxpayers may dedicate up to $400.
